Fly Fishing Illustration for Springs Magazine

Springs Magazine, a local Colorado Springs publication, came to me to illustrate a piece for their on-going humor article. This issue’s story is about all of the chaotic things that can happen the first time you go fly fishing.

In this piece, our character (inspired by the author, Steven Hayword), is stuck in a series of unfortunate events. I appreciate how the retro aesthetic and figurative anatomy plays to the topsy-turvy humor of the story.

I can’t wait to read the full story and share the final layout (designed by the lovely Tanya Shaw Jeffrey) when the issue is released at the end of September!
