I'm not big on judging design from a perspective of subjectivity: Either its popping (successful) or it isn't. As a result I almost tossed this pattern. For some reason I didn’t feel that I was connecting the dots (no pun intended) on the visual relationship between the different elements. Luckily I hit up one of my design colleagues and pattern impresario @andreapippins who essentially told me that I was tripping. I took her advice and took a step back from the design for a couple of days and when I returned to working on it I found that her advice was solid and that I was indeed tripping. Maybe. I'm going to take another swing at this in the next week or so.
