Jordan Mitchell Brand Elements

Part of the brand elements I designed for photographer based in Houston, Tx. She wanted a hand-lettered wordmark that reflected the feel of a watercolor painting. So instead of just putting some brush script on top of a blotch of watercolor paint, I tried to mix it up by hand-lettering the wordmark with watercolor. I had to consult my wife who dabbles in watercolor to get the consistency I wanted. I ended up brushing the wordmark about 60 times to get the composition I wanted. Working with something as unpredictable as watercolor was a nice change from pixels and vectors.
