The client is a manufacturer of digital displays and controllers used in industrial processes around the globe. This logo is for their line of explosion-proof instrumentation.

My task was to design a logo that conveyed the ruggedness and sleekness of the blue die-cast aluminum enclosure. The logo also needed to highlight the fact that this line is explosion-proof. I accomplished these requests by enclosing the name in a hexagon representing the rugged enclosure. I also made an emphasis on the “Ex” portion of the name, as this is a common way of abbreviating explosion-proof in the industry. The end result exudes the sleek and rugged design of the product enclosure while highlighting its explosion-proof characteristic.
