Quick rev I did of Brian Kenny's Trillionaire Tuesday, an idea based around Uber // OpenTable for nail salons.
This UI probably isn't so practical but a good exercise to explore it's style as well as the idea itself, considering it as a potential layer on top of a platform like Phorest.
Messaging Paddy Monaghan though, I learned such an app could hurt the salon business where around 90% of revenue is repeat bookings and having something to move people around like a marketplace ends up killing that repeat business. He also mentioned findings where 94% of clients who came from marketplaces never made it to 5 bookings.
"What works for taxi drivers who are not focused on retention does not necessarily work for" in our case, salons.
Totally understand people return to "their" salons but I can also imagine a scenario where one would choose a salon based on time constraints, spontaneity, etc.
