WGU Hack-a-Thon
I had the awesome opportunity to lead a team in the 2016 WGU Hack-a-Thon. I sent in a proposal to the WGU leadership and my idea was one of the 5/18 proposals that won. I put together a team and we had 2 weeks to implement the concept. At the end of the 2 weeks, I presented to an audience and panel of judges.
My concept was to create a homepage/dashboard in the student portal that allowed users to drag and drop custom modules with information that was important to them. Every student is different and has different needs. This concept was meant to help make every student experience feel catered and custom.
We did not win the competition, but there was a lot of interest in making this a real feature for the students.
