Although Jaguar is not known for its supercars, the XJ220 (1992-1994) was nothing short of a supercar. With its 3.5 litre twin-turbocharged V6, producing 540 hp (400 kW) and its sleek aerodynamic design, it was a worthy competitor of the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959.What started out as an after-hours project of passionate Jaguar employees, turned out to be an ultimate supercar ambassador for Jaguar. Jaguar's luxurious take on the supercar theme stood in strong contrast to the spartan Ferrari F40.
