The Ferrari F40 (successor of the 288 GTO) was a celebration of the 40th anniversary of Ferrari. It would turn out to be the last Ferrari approved by Enzo Ferrari, who died in 1988. The car was produced from 1987 until 1992 (up to 1994 for the LM).
Being one of the most iconic supercars of all times, it features a distinct design and a 2.9 litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing 471 hp (352 kW). The F40 was designed for pure performance and nothing else. The Pininfarina design used advanced materials like kevlar and carbon fiber to reduce the weight. Windows were even made of plastic to keep the F40 as nimble as possible.

Note that this image is a great companion to my other "Ferrari F40" images.
