Sublime Imperfections

New work update! A website for Sublime Imperfections, a research project based at the University of Amsterdam,
which examines the current preoccupation with the aesthetics of trash, grunge and non-polished within diverse cultural practices.

A website documents investigations and research on cultural, historical and political preconditions of a contemporary preoccupation with the non-polished. Content will be continuously updated with cultural events, initiated symposiums and articles during the upcoming years.

The Sublime imperfections visual language combines the contradictions of aesthetics of ‘high and low’, sublime and imperfect. The background is made out of symbols of beauty mixed together with grunge stains and abstract paint splatters layered together.
