Learning Sketch!
After 20 years of using Photoshop, I finally decided I better learn Sketch!
I didn't have an appropriate client project to learn with, so I've initiated this "fake" project to give myself the time to learn Sketch properly without the pressures and deadlines of a client job. In my 15 year career as a freelance web designer I don't think I've ever done a fake project like this, but it turned out to be the perfect way to give myself the flexibility needed to learn.
Bossley Architects is a great Auckland architecture firm who I admire and would love to work with, and their website is is desperate need of an upgrade. So it made the perfect case study for this learning experience.
So far so good in Sketch. I can see already that a number of features are going to really increase my speed and efficiency with interface design. Still learning all the quirks, especially un-learning how I previously did things in Photoshop in favour of what's (usually) more efficient in Sketch.
Still a lot to learn but I'm confident I could start new client projects in Sketch now as I continue to get more familiar with it.
Stay tuned for more on this project. If I can find the time I'd like to complete this entire page and do a few more to make it a more comprehensive case study.
