Hi,
here's iterated version based on new ideas and some very valuable feedbacks received last time. Attachments for closer view.

Added:
- Shadow correction visually
- Trending fresh/breaking news with more affordance
- Reworked icons
- Offline reading mechanism

I truly believe that the art of collecting and filtering feedbacks received is extremely important in a design cycle. In cases especially when we are building our own ideas, working alone and there is scarcity of feedbacks I think dribbble serve as a great mechanism to hear back from peers here. It has worked well for me I'd say in such situations.
