Cognac Bottle Label and Symbol

The client desired a symbol for his company's cognac bottle. He provided the name and a snippet about the project - that it should suggest something old being reinvented. This prompted a few hours of looking at the astounding evolution of basic inventions like wheels, pulleys, gears and cranks. This symbol is an attempt to merge them all seamlessly.

The linework was drawn precisely in AutoCAD [yes, this timing chain would work!] and brought to Illustrator for further embellishment. Font used is Halogen from Adobe TypeKit. Colors are white and gray.
