Southern Living - The South's National Parks

Southern Living contacted me a few months ago about doing a headline and a spot illustration for their article on the south's national parks. This was a new opportunity as I've never done any editorial work prior to this (aside from a magazine cover a few years back) and I never really do much illustration work. However, this has definitely been one of the more fun projects of the year thus far - my wife and I are really enamored with nature and wildlife in general, so this was a perfect brief for me. I've attached some actual shots of it in last month's issue and some of the rough concept sketches as well.

As a little aside, it was nice to get to sneak one of my own typefaces into the mix here, Skyward.
