Photobomb

When I used to live in Puebla, Mexico, I took pictures non stop. My favorite thing ever was to take my photos and merge them with my illustrations (I should do this more...).

In Puebla, it was custom for men to stare at women and the women would act put out about it (but apparently really liked it). So unlike living in the states, it was good to get "caught" staring. So this illustration is derived from that (no, the monster is not how I look at all Mexican men, he's just a friendly monster waving to get some attention).

When I first drew this, I had the redhead all scared and mousy and my very sassy daughter said "no, no she has too much attitude for that, you need her to do this" and she made the pose that I redid the look for.
