Choosing Logins to Fill in Firefox for iOS
When a user selects a login field (username or password) the keyboard appears with any available logins in the tray above it. For hardware keyboards, this tray appears at the bottom of the screen.
If the login is a long one, or if there are multiple logins, the pills extend off the side behind a hard border. The user can swipe-scroll across them.
If the user starts typing in the login field, we live filter the pills to only display relevant results. This live filtering only occurs for partial matches. Once an exact match has been typed, all the logins are displayed again.
If the user has Touch ID/Passcode turned on in their settings, the login pills are hidden, and instead display the word “View Logins”.
If the user touches the word in the tray, then they are prompted to use their Touch ID or enter in a Passcode, following which the pills are displayed again.
When a user taps a login, we pre-populate the login fields for them. The user is now free to modify the logins or hit submit.
Login fields are available in Private Browsing as well.
