THINKING by Nootrobox
This is the identity for the newly launched online magazine, THINKING by Nootrobox (thinking.nootrobox.com). THINKING is home to articles and analysis about cognition, biohacking, nootropics, and human enhancement at large.
In creating the identity for Nootrobox's content desk, we wanted to create a strong sub-brand, rather that than simply launching "The Nootrobox Blog." THINKING is a standalone product, an online magazine with unique & provocative stance, as opposed to a repository for droll product launches and company updates found on a typical corporate blog.
THINKING is forged within the same identity system as Nootrobox's other products (SPRINT, RISE, YAWN, etc.). The title & design of THINKING hold up nicely when conveyed in the same manner as other first-class publications like Wired, The Atlantic, etc.
The word "thinking" was decided for two reasons. First, "thinking" communicates a sense of future -- the magazine covers new & emerging ideas, so "thinking" aligns with the sense of actively figuring out what's next. Secondly, the word harkens to Nootrobox's work towards making cognitive enhancement a mainstream reality.
The hybrid illustration-type style was picked to visually represent the actual process of thinking, which begins with chaotic ideas and exploration, and moves towards discrete order.
