273 Water Street

The third oldest building in Manhattan, 273 Water Street was first occupied by a mahogany trader. In the 1860s the building became one of the city's most notorious taverns, when owner "Christopher (Kit) Burns [offered] dog and rat fights as entertainment to the patrons." The building was converted into apartments in 1998.
