Pixelthrone Logo — Making Of

Here's a quick glance into the process I've gone through to create @PixelThrone's new logo. Admittedly a chaotic one, I just start sketching on paper or even directly into illustrator and let chance take over, guided by an underlying idea (not set in stone).

In this case, I was trying to explore the breakdown of Pixel and Throne. To achieve it, midway through the design I started exploring rectangular shapes — the pixel — that could outline a chair of sorts — the throne —.

In the end I came with the final shape that emulates a crown/shield with an encrusted jewel/pixel which, by playing with negative space and shadows, also resembles a stone throne.
