Onboarding Concept - Dual Ex

Full res attached. A dead-simple onboarding concept for a photography app geared around photomanipulation and dual exposures.

Staying true to the "Show, Don't Tell" philosophy, the goal here is to highlight the types of photographs that users can create with this app. Since the people downloading this are likely ones who already own several photography apps, I needed to highlight what they can do in this app that they can't in the others.

Onboarding is a deceptive thing: it seems really easy but actually getting users to stop on each screen and read the copy is quite difficult (as plenty of user tests have informed me). I'm hoping that looking at these images will not only make users want to stay on the screen longer and read the copy, but also get them excited about the kinds of images they can create once they are in the app.

Highlighting the images meant I had to reduce the visual complexity in the rest of the content and UI, so I went for a basic minimal theme, sticking to pleasing whites and grays. Both images seen here were taken and merged by me in Enlight and later in Photoshop.
