The Mighty Eighth
I'm a big fan of the HBO war drama series »Band of Brothers« (2001) and »The Pacific« (2010) — both co-produced by Tom Hanks & Steven Spielberg. For some years there are rumors for a third mini-series. This time about the famous »Eighth Air Force«. First it was announced under the name »Masters of the Air« but it was later renamed The Mighty Eighth. Still no release-date but there is hope ;)
About this artwork: I tried a new illustration style with the plane. Finally it turned in that kind of a »Illustration/Badge«. Very detailed. Very long hours. To long for a personal project :) Zoom in for all the details. See full poster in the attachments. Would love to hear your opinion on that one. Thank you!
About the Plane: The illustrated plane shows the legendary »Boeing B-17«. Also known as the »Flying Fortress«. Maybe I will continue this illustration/badge series with other WWII planes (if I find the time).
