Level Up!

Creative South is just one week away! Pretty stoked to see some old faces and looking forward to meeting new people. This is the final lockup for the tee shirt that everyone attending the conference will get to go home with.

I referenced a whole lotta vintage gas station signage prior to sketching this piece. I noticed there were a lot of warm colors involved in my research, which is why I'm displaying the lettering on this yellow. However, the actual tee shirt will be black with the graphic screen printed in gray (by @RealThreads) because—let's be honest—everyone looks so damn good in black. Also, I'm told the color is slimming...

If you haven't heard, @Ian Barnard and I are hosting a workshop on Crayligraphy (the art of stylistically writing with a Crayola marker). I originally wrote the ‘Creative South’ lettering using only a Crayola marker to prove that tools do not make the artist.
