FAMIS Block Modules

WIP of a layout system I've been working on for Loyola University New Orleans's Department of Film & Music Industry Studies.

They focus heavily on creating new content to showcase what's going on in the department. This system allows the person managing the site to easily swap out featured blocks and build out new pages of featured content without touching any new code.

This is a custom Timber WP site using ACF Pro for Repeater fields and Flexible content fields which are used to select block types or size. Blocks can either have custom content or can pull in post data from articles or custom post types.

I'm currently working on refining everything and creating a few more block types so that those in the future can easily create new pages or edit them.

This system also sets out to solve one of the main problems with the old site. The old site presented a large amount of info on every page that often was unrelated to what a visitor might be interested in. With these tiles/blocks, the visitor can quickly get an overview of what the site/department offers and dive deeper into what they are actually interested in.
