Spectrum

This is the 2015 edition of the AppDirect yearbook, "Spectrum". Filled with 360 pages of compelling interviews by @Ben Domanico, and beautiful portraits by @Joe Mayo.

This is a perfect bound paperback, with black matte boards mounted to the front and back covers. The title runs vertically along the binding edge, and is intentionally obscured by the boards. I designed the cover using holographic foil paper, and hit the front cover with a foil stamp deboss so as to make this piece incredibly reactive to light. Thematically, that interaction with light was really important to me, and supported the visual explorations within.
