MIDI Markup

I teamed up with @Niko Lazaris and Stef Cohen to make MIDI Markup at the SXSW Music Hackathon Championship. We were inspired by how accessibility technology is changing the music industry and wanted to take a stab at something new.

MIDI Markup a music composition suite that uses a custom music markup language to help visually-impaired creators "code" music. This is an alternative to editors like Logic/Reason/Ableton that require precise mouse movements to sequence MIDI scores.

Additionally, there are audio cues that help the composer navigate the editor. As you use the arrow keys to explore vertically and horizontally, it announces which track/instrument and which measure you are on.

See the code at https://github.com/jhil/midimarkup. Should be live soon.
