Afterschoolz Icon V2

This is a branding refresh I did for Afterschoolz in 2015, for a logo I originally designed for them in 2014.

The 2014 logo was a simple. stylized apple—it was solid, but I thought it could be more effective if It was connected to the name in some way.

My idea was to make the 'A' allude to an apple and the 'A' in Afterschoolz. You can see progress work and a comparison in attachments.
