Bike Vector

About a year or so ago I made this bike. I was really getting into vectors, I was new at illustrator and I had never really ever made anything from scratch before. So I tried making something I thought I could do.

I thought the shape of a bike was interesting so I decided to draw that. I had a lot of fun exploring with strokes and colors in illustrator, fine tuning them and really getting the result I wanted.

After a few tries I had everything down they way I wanted, but I just struggled with the handlebars. I couldn’t find something that I like and essentially abandoned the project.

A few days ago, I decided to revisit it just to see what I had made. You know what, I really like what I did. I really enjoy that I made this whole vector from scratch and I had blast doing it.

For some reason, many times I will abandon projects because I don’t like them or don’t think I should share them. But then down the road I will revise them and find that what I made was actually pretty good. It might not be some award winning design but it was good, I learned something new and had fun doing it.

Don’t condemn your work cause you’re not sure how good it is. Just let your work be your work and share it when it’s ready. I encourage you to revisit some of your old work, it might be a lot different than you remembered.
