Looking for feedback

I'm playing around with getting my blog up and running again, but I'm having some trouble settling on a design that I like. This is a concept piece based on some pretty simple branding and some typefaces that I inevitably wouldn't be able to use. I would like opinions based around whether it's too simple, boring etc. This is an article page, obviously.
