Custom Social Media Template on Book to TV Adaptations
Beginnings
The client wanted a custom social media template she could use to feature her favorite book-to-TV adaptations. Thus, I wanted to create something different yet aligned with her branding and was universally appealling.
I started with color. To keep it cohesive with her existing aesthetic, I went through Pinterest for inspiration, narrowing down shades that complemented her brand while making the post feel inviting. The soft olive green and muted pink struck the perfect balance: sophisticated but playful.
Design Format
Next, I thought about the structure. A simple side-by-side comparison felt too expected, so I introduced a frame to give it a scrapbook-like quality, reinforcing the idea of collecting and sharing stories. To make it feel even more bookish, I added a folded page corner as a subtle nod to the way we physically interact with books. To add shadows to the books and edit the letters, I worked with a designer I often collaborate with on small design projects. Finally, I included a page number, making it feel like part of a larger series rather than a standalone post.
Final Result
Very pleased with the final result and how it turned out. You can view the social media post on Instagram here.
