Pet monsters are not allowed in the hospital waiting area

About the project

I get upset whenever I have to visit a hospital. I mean really upset. I have a long history in and out of hospitals throughout all my child and teen life and one quarter of my adult life. The surgeries, embolisms and hospitalisations I experienced left me with a post-traumatic stress disorder. 

The past year I am getting help to smooth the edges to any hospital - related upsetting event that might happen in life. 

However the past week I had an accident at home breaking my ankle. Visiting the emergency room and the hospital was super upsetting for me. Announcing to me that I need urgently surgery was absolutely nightmarish.

I used this fear by taking photos before and after my surgery, imagining cute, chubby and shinny monsters hanging out in the corridors. And it actually helped.

This is the outcome of me copping with hospital - dread.

Don't worry! We will be waiting keeping your stuff safe after you return from surgery
