Air Conditioning Remote Control for BMW

Challenge: Design a mobile GUI that allows drivers to remotely control their car’s air conditioning, ensuring an optimal temperature upon arrival.

Approach: The project began with research on BMW’s climate control apps and a study of vehicles with remote climate technology. The goal was to identify key features and explore enhancements for a more efficient user experience.

To address different climate needs, I designed the interface for iOS users in cold regions (e.g., Sweden). The process started with sitemap creation and wireframing, defining essential screens and user flows. The interface was designed to be intuitive and adaptable, ensuring seamless climate control for drivers in varying weather conditions.

Key Features:

  • Quick Access Homepage – Immediate control of air conditioning.

  • Automatic Mode – Smart climate adjustment.

  • Departure Schedule – Pre-set temperature based on schedule.

  • Fan Speed & Air Mode – Custom airflow settings.

  • Heated Seats & Air Quality Monitor – Enhanced comfort and air monitoring.

  • Voice Control & Recent Activity – Hands-free interaction and activity tracking.

  • Start/Stop Button – Primary action for instant climate activation.
