AngelList // Venture Capital & Startups Website.

This project showcases a sleek, modern web design for AngelList, a platform empowering venture capital, private equity firms, and startups. The redesign spans five key screens—the hero section, software suite overview, impressive statistics, testimonials, and resources—blending a professional dark green and white aesthetic with intuitive functionality to engage investors and innovators.

Context

AngelList connects a vast ecosystem of 85K+ active investors, 12K+ startups, and 23K+ funds/syndicates, managing $1,244B in assets and facilitating $8B raised by active startups. This web design targets venture capital firms, entrepreneurs, and investors, providing tools to attract, engage, and manage opportunities while reinforcing AngelList’s role as a trusted industry leader.

Problem

The challenge was to redesign AngelList’s website to feel authoritative yet approachable, ensuring users could navigate a data-rich, multi-functional platform effortlessly. We needed to highlight the platform’s scale, credibility, and resources while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic that reflects AngelList’s professional brand and encourages user trust and engagement.

Process

I began by researching AngelList’s audience—venture capital firms, startups, and investors—and analysed competitor platforms to identify opportunities for differentiation. After sketching initial concepts, I iterated in Figma, focusing on a dark firefly and white colour scheme, bold typography, and intuitive layouts. I collaborated with the AngelList team to refine each section, incorporating mockups, statistics, and testimonials, and conducted user testing to ensure usability and visual impact across the hero, software suite, numbers, testimonials, and resources screens.

Solution

The final design features a cohesive, minimalist layout with a dark green and white palette, bold typography, and strategic visuals. The hero section uses a striking dark green background with service tiles for Investor Management, Financial Services, Full Service Funds, and Equity Management, inviting users to explore. The software suite screen showcases an Investor Portal mockup with a clear service list, while the numbers screen presents large, legible stats ($1,244B, 23K+, etc.) in a grid for impact. Testimonials feature authentic quotes with blurred backgrounds and carousel navigation, and the resources section offers a grid of article thumbnails with dark green accents for easy navigation. Subtle hover animations and responsive design ensure a seamless, engaging user experience across all screens.

Key Insights

Through this project, I learned that users value structured, hierarchical designs with visual anchors like mockups and bold statistics, which build trust and clarity. Testing showed that the dark green accents and clean typography reinforced AngelList’s professional brand, while interactivity (e.g., hover states, carousel navigation) significantly boosted engagement. This experience highlighted the importance of balancing aesthetics, functionality, and user psychology to create a powerful digital presence for a venture capital platform.
