VR Future 3D "Phone" Interface Concept
Building upon the latest work from Apple on the Vision Pro, I'm experimenting here with application icons that feel more three-dimensional and palpable, along with a subtle micro-interaction to give a sensation of "floating" designed to entice the user to reach out and touch them.
Rather than using a darkened background, as the Vision Pro does, I feel the generally dark icons are given a better contrast with a lighter, "frosted glass" effect. Contrast is critical when designing for VR, because it directly impacts legibility, depth perception, user experience, and accessibility. Unlike traditional screens, VR presents unique challenges due to depth, motion, and varying lighting conditions.
More VR experiments to come!
