Old Sailor Logo
Back in 2021, I worked on a logo design for a travel company in Hamburg.
A defining landmark of the city is the Elbphilharmonie, which I aimed to capture in the symbol. To respect trademark rules, I simplified the forms by using two roof curves instead of three. Being located along the Elbe River, it was important to reflect the movement of waves. Interestingly, the final logomark took the shape of a bearded man, reminiscent of Hamburg’s old sailors and their iconic look.
Do you think the bearded sailor adds to the logo’s story?
