Getch Your Engravings Logo
For this logo design, I was inspired by an engraved stamp originally hand-created by the great grandfather, which depicts a worker using an engraving press machine. I loved the timeless look and nostalgia of the image, so I did my best to digitize and recreate it as the focal point for the company logo. For the color palette, I leaned towards warm tones of leather, sand, and charcoal. For the lettering, I wanted to carry that timeless, vintage feel of the emblem and make the letters themselves appear engraved.
For every business logo, I create three versions, full color, single color, and single color inverse. The single color inverse is very important to utilize when using a light colored ink on a dark background. Creating an inverse design prevents the image from appearing inverted when printed this way. The inverse design preserves the integrity of shadows and highlights.
