THE DREAM GIRLS LOGO DESIGN

My client needed an exciting logo for an all-girl singing trio and cabaret act called The Dream Girls. They perform a mix of songs influenced by music from 1960s and 1970s from different genres like Motown, disco, rock ‘n roll, blues and rock. They had been working under a different name but decided to change it to something more in line with what they do and to tie in with their look and image.

I designed the logo in Adobe Illustrator inspired by blocky record label and entertainment logos in the 1960s and 1970s. Instead of a geometric background circle or abstract shape, I created silhouettes of the girls from publicity photos to use as a background shape inspired by the Supremes butterfly silhouette logo. Finally I added a gold gradient and some starbursts for highlight to really tie in their sparkly dress.
