Citipoint App Logo Design
Introducing Citipoint
The Citipoint logo is a modern mobile application designed to guide individuals through the old European cities' ancient streets and locations. It's supposed to convey a feeling of discovery, direction, and a combination of history and technology, with a focused palette of four different colors.
The Problem
It intended to have a logo that looks modern but also reminds people of uncovering history. It had to be easy to recognize as a location-finding app but suggest the interesting history people would uncover with a minimal color scheme.
The Concept
The location pin icon, represented by a silhouette of a stylized fort with a star, now represents a pinpoint on a map of historic cities and a guiding light of discovery. The four different colors signify various dimensions of the experience of the app: the location, the historic architecture (fort), the guiding factor (star), and the brand identity in general.
The Process
The Steps I began by looking at the conventional pin shape of a location and how it could embrace historical aspects. The fort shape was designed to resemble the ancient buildings in European cities, and the star represents a significant site or landmark. The four colors were chosen to represent differences and interpretations, with each color representing a different component of the icon. The clean, crisp typography provides a contemporary juxtaposition to the historical theme.
The Solution
The final design has a distinctive location pin icon shaped like a fort and a star, and a simple, lowercase font. The four different colors add to the app's role as a guide to historic European cities and emphasize the main elements of the icon. The icon's clean design is easy to resize and utilize on digital platforms.
Final Thoughts
This was a great opportunity to merge historical inspiration with modern app design through a focused color scheme. I'd love to hear your thoughts—does this logo, with its distinctive elements and colors, convey Citipoint's personality as an ancient European city guide app?
