Milton - Learning App
This project was conducted as a part of the User Interface Design course. Our goal was to create a tool that motivates young people to learn more about Quantum Computing. We combined the style of a mobile video game app and the UI of a regular learning app. We covered all main stages of the UX/UI cycle by implementing some design thinking methods like the Crazy 8's. We developed personas, a low-fidelity prototype, wireframes, a design system and a high-fidelity prototype. During every stage we conducted some user research, specifically interviews and surveys.
We initially wanted to implement timers for our questions but later decided against it to enhance the user experience and improve accessibility. Here is a part of our wireframe and initial concept:
Later on instead of creating a regular level path, we decided to design an elevator shaped as a quantum computer that takes you to the next level.
In the beginning, we chose yellow and blue as our color theme, but this made the designs feel less polished. That’s why we replaced yellow with lavender. Additionally, we later adjusted the positioning and sizing of the buttons to make them more easily clickable.
