Ei San's Homemade Inspiration ( Recipe Website Design )

Role : UI/UX Designer

Tool Used : Adobe XD for wireframing and user interaction design

Ei San, a Burmese chef and influencer behind " Ei San's Homemade Inspiration", shares her passion for traditional and modern recipes through her Facebook page and YouTube channel. For this project, I took both UI and UX design responsibilities, creating a user-friendly and visually engaging website that makes it easy for users to discover, learn and enjoy her recipes.

Design Approach :

To give Ei San, the client, flexibility, I created multiple design options for each section, allowing her to select the design that best aligned with her brand vision. I also provided design choices per feature for the development team to choose from, ensuring the final design was both visually and functionally suitable for the project. This collaborative process involved discussions with Ei San, the developers, and the project manager to ensure the design aligned with everyone’s expectations.

Key Features :

Homepage : An inviting homepage that showcases featured recipes, categories and links to Eisan’s social media content. I offered both dark and light versions of the design to ensure the website is versatile and adaptable to different user preferences. The iterative design process, with numerous design variations, took significant time but was crucial for delivering a comprehensive and user-centered final product.

Recipe Pages : A comprehensive section with numerous recipes. Clicking on a recipe opens a detailed page with easy-to-follow instructions, stunning photos, and step-by-step videos to help users cook along easily.

Printable Recipe Feature : I introduced a print-friendly button on each recipe page. When clicked, it generates a simplified, printer-friendly version of the recipe with a dedicated UI designed specifically for paper format. This allows users to print and save their favorite recipes for future reference.

• About Section : A page telling Eisan’s culinary story, offering insights into her background and cooking philosophy.

• Admin Panel Frame : I design the initial framework of an admin panel to give the basic control over her content. The design includes notification styles and a structural frame, allowing for future development.

• Visual Appeal & Readability : I carefully selected typography, layouts, and visual elements to maintain clarity and aesthetic appeal, ensuring the content is easy to read and engage with.

• Mobile Optimization : A fully responsive design ensures smooth and consistent experiences across devices. Mobile version link -

Timeline :

The project involved multiple design iterations to accommodate the diverse choices provided to the client and developers. The extensive detailing, especially for the print-friendly feature, required a flexible timeline and continuous feedback from the team.
