This opening spread illustrates a feature story examining the environmental impact of electric vehicle batteries. The concept — showing Earth connected to a charging port with the Salton Sea as a backdrop — was initially created using Midjourney, then carefully reconstructed in Photoshop with stock photography. I maintained a neutral visual narrative to avoid steering readers toward either a positive or negative perspective of EV batteries. Projects like this are particularly exciting as they allow me to experiment with new technologies to refine and streamline my creative process.
