Pieces of Sky

KEEP SOUND ON!!

What can be the outcome of a 48-hour animation challenge??

Pieces of sky is the answer to the question above. This short film/animation was the outcome of an experiment to make something simple but fun and engaging within 48 hours (did wreck some nerves in between)... This is a tribute to our very own skies and how they can be our biggest canvases to our imagination. It tells everyone's story and perception of the sky at some point in their lives. The composition is made using post-its and following the grid of the mat (from IKEA). It consists of both 2D frame-by-frame animation done in Procreate as well as some motion graphics composited ad compiled finally in after effects. The 48-hour challenge was organized by Harkat Studios (India) under the banner Animasti '25 (Animation + Masti (Hindi word for fun))...
