Task

• Create a new desktop trips page for travel managers based on the traveler app itinerary

Challenge

• Travel managers are forced to dig through various parts of a corporate travel management app to find relevant trip data, unless they used the itinerary which was a mess of text.

A new mobile app for travelers had been developed, and it was requested to keep this in parity.

Research

• This page will be accessed by more than just travel managers, we learned in user interviews. Finance plays a significant role in policy compliance and can use this page to complete reconciliation. It became clear that the page would need to be multifunctional with thorough data displayed.

Initial designs kept the same pattern as mobile, with a set of containers on which to click in order to access additional details such as flight times, hotel address, etc.

The better solution was to create another tier of navigation, so the full itinerary could always be in view and the user can quickly and easily jump to the segment with the relevant information.
