Process

The project began by selecting and isolating the key elements: an astronaut, a Coca-Cola can, the moon’s surface, and the Earth. Each element was carefully chosen for its symbolic and visual impact.

I used layers and masks in Photoshop to combine these elements seamlessly. The astronaut was placed on the moon’s surface, while the Coca-Cola can was scaled up to create a sense of surrealism. Earth was positioned in the background to complete the scene.

To enhance the realism and depth of the image, I added effects such as shadows, highlights, and the smoke rising from the can. These small details helped to integrate the elements into a cohesive and believable composition, despite the fantastical nature of the scene.

Challenges

One significant challenge was blending the different elements seamlessly to maintain a sense of realism. Each element had to be carefully integrated to avoid a disjointed or artificial appearance.

Another challenge was ensuring the composition remained visually balanced, despite the exaggerated scale of the Coca-Cola can and the surreal context of the scene.
