"Mermaid Samurai" for Tatami Fightwear

This design was inspired by a design from La Playa Hotel that featured two mermaids holding hands. Where that design was charming and friendly, I took a decidedly more aggressive approach. The interwoven tails and the crossed katanas made for a dynamic design full of symmetry. However, symmetry can often become redundant, so I took the design a step farther by modifying each mermaid. The mermaid on the left has a diamond in her headdress as well as diamond earrings and three slashes on each cheek. In contrast, the mermaid on the right has a T for Tatami in her headdress, circular earrings and three dots on her cheeks. To crown the entire design, I added the circular Tatami Kanji mark I created during my first project with Tatami years ago. This design is yet another addition to the Tropical Tatami collection.
