Wanderly - Travel Platform Design

About the Project

Wanderly is a conceptual design for a travel planning platform aimed at simplifying the way users explore and book their adventures. The project combines a clean and intuitive user interface with dynamic visuals to inspire travelers and guide them seamlessly from idea to reservation.

Problem

Planning a trip can be overwhelming. From choosing a destination to understanding costs, users often face unclear interfaces, excessive steps in booking processes, and limited customization options. This discourages many users from engaging fully in the experience.

Solution

Wanderly addresses these challenges by creating a visually engaging, easy-to-navigate platform. It streamlines the process of selecting, customizing, and booking trips while providing clear and structured information.

Reviews Block: Highlighting Real User Experiences

A dedicated "What our adventurers say" section was designed to build trust and credibility.

1) Customer ratings overview - displays an aggregated star rating (4.7/5) along with detailed sub-ratings for categories like safety, guide quality, and transport.

2) Customer photos - a gallery of real travelers’ photos provides authenticity and visual context.

3) Testimonials - highlighted user quotes with detailed feedback and verified booking details.

This block helps potential users feel confident in their choice by providing honest feedback and showcasing experiences from other travelers.

Typography and Colors

The design of Wanderly is grounded in a clean and modern aesthetic, supported by carefully chosen typography and a harmonious color palette. The Satoshi typeface was selected for its readability and contemporary feel. Bold - used for headings and important text to draw attention and establish hierarchy. Regular - applied to body text for a clean and approachable look.

This combination of typography and colors ensures clarity, accessibility, and a visually appealing experience while maintaining a minimalist and professional design language.

Results

This conceptual project demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform a complex process into an intuitive, delightful experience. Wanderly invites users to dream, explore, and book with confidence.

Learning Ouсtomes

This project was created as part of a web design course focusing on 10 usability principles for user interface design, inspired by Jakob Nielsen’s principles. This project served as a hands-on opportunity to apply theory to practice, translating usability principles into real-world design solutions.
