Younghee and Cheolsu Inspired by Squid Game
Overview
I created this illustration and designed the magazine pages to promote a series of Speaking General English books for adult students at Hackers Education Group in 2019. This magazine is distributed in public spaces such as universities, subway stations, and cafes in Korea.
The design was inspired by two iconic characters, 철수 and 영희, from the Korean language textbooks I used in elementary school (Year 1). Interestingly, these characters have recently gained global recognition and love through Netflix’s Squid Game Seasons 1 and 2.
My role
I was responsible for the entire creative process, from conceptualizing the design and setting the art direction to overseeing production. This included creating illustrations and handling the editorial design for the magazine.
