Facility Reservation Process: An approach to Negotiations
This platform lets contractors list their unused facilities—like equipment, office spaces, and container spaces—for clients to reserve over a defined period. Instead of attaching fixed prices to the listed facilities, the project owner opted for a negotiation-based approach, where clients and contractors agree on a reservation price directly. Both parties then pay a service charge based on the negotiated amount.
To meet this requirement, I designed a process that ensures negotiations remain within the platform while accurately calculating service charges based on the agreed price. This approach maintains transparency, prevents external transactions, and reinforces trust between clients and contractors, all while upholding the platform's core value of streamlined facility reservation.
My Approach- Step 1
The Client makes a reservation on their desired facility
Step 2
After a reservation is made, the client and contractor head straight to the Negotiation Room™—there, they can discuss and agree on a suitable amount, with all the reservation details conveniently displayed on the left side of the screen for quick reference.
By design, the Negotiation Room is the only communication channel available between the contractor and the potential client, ensuring everything stays on-platform and deals are sealed
Step 3
Once the negotiation is completed, the contractor drafts a pricing plan based on the agreement. The platform provides a simple form where the contractor can input key details like the agreed unit price, payment frequency, and any additional discounts.
With these details in place, the system automatically calculates the service charge and generates a comprehensive summary of the plan. A copy is then sent to the client, giving them the option to either accept or deny the proposal. It’s a seamless way to finalize agreements while keeping everything transparent and efficient.
Conclusion
Once the client accepts the pricing plan, they’re directed to the contract section, where they can either download the contract or review it directly on the platform. After uploading their signature, the reservation is officially approved, and the facility details, along with the contractor’s contact information, are shared with the client.
This final step ties everything together, ensuring a smooth and transparent process from negotiation to approval. It’s all designed to make reservations easy, secure, and hassle-free for both parties while fulfilling the project wner's requirements
