The Squirrel's Trail - Icon Design Book
Welcome to an exploration project of the Indian palm squirrel, a universal and beloved resident of India's woods and urban landscapes.
I explored visual representations, patterns, body structures, and symbolic meanings associated with them. By combining observation and artistic interpretation, I designed a range of icons using different techniques
Inspiration : My journey began with the rescue of a newborn squirrel at home, sparking my curiosity to delve deeper into understanding these creatures.
Anatomy & Study : I studied Indian palm hand squirrels online and offline, focusing on their distinctive features, behaviors, and habitats.
Observation, Sketching, & Photography: I closely observed squirrels in parks, sketching their details and capturing their movements through photography.
Concept Development : Drawing from my observations, I brainstormed ideas and visual elements to portray the essence of squirrels.
Creative Blockage : Facing creative challenges, I took short breaks, seeking inspiration from books and my surroundings to overcome hurdles.
Refinement & Iteration : I refined each design based on feedback, aiming to enhance visual appeal while maintaining accuracy.
Abstraction & Digitalization : Transitioning to digital format, I experimented with color, texture, and effects to refine my designs further.
