Microburst

Microburst is a fast-paced mobile party game where players face off in 5-second micro-games to be last alien standing! Currently in development more to come soon!

Overview

This case study details the journey of designing my first solo developed game! I decided to create a mobile party game in the style of the WarioWare series leveraging the unique input types mobile phones provide (gyro, swipe, tap, camera, etc.). The game is designed with a unique monetization model: it is entirely free to play single-player, but for players to host multiplayer sessions they have to pay a one-time fee while guests can join for free with ads. This is designed to hook the players with the solo experience and encourage them to pay the fee to be able to share the fun with their friends.
