🙏 Netflix Logged In Reasons

Growing up, my brother and I shared everything—clothes, toys, TV time, etc. Now that we’re older, we share streaming accounts instead. I pay for Paramount+ and ESPN+; he covers Hulu, Disney+, etc.

Sometimes, we must kick the other out to reset the “active devices.” And the other day, while logged into his HBO Max account, I realized I hadn't watched "The Penguin." I needed to give him a heads-up before he logged me out, and that got me thinking.

What If... streaming platforms let “out of network” users add a “logged-in reason” to plead with the account owner for access?

Here are two ideas to make it work: First, devices on the same network (read WiFi) wouldn’t need a “logged-in reason.” If you're connected to this WiFi, you're good. Second, if you're using an out-of-network device, you’d have to submit a reason for access. The account owner could then decide if it’s worth granting.

Imagine the power trip for account owners, seeing out-of-network users grovel for access. Meanwhile, those users might feel a bit humiliated—and maybe, just maybe, finally decide to get their own accounts.

And isn’t that what all streaming platforms want?

So, if you're leeching off someone else's streaming account, send them a message. Thank them and share your “logged in” reason!
