Food detector Food Discovery Platform (MVP)

Client

Imagine a portal where folks dive deep into the very heart of a region via its iconic foods and products. A digital compass, if you will, pinpointing the finest Italy can offer.

Why? Because Italy isn't just a country; it's a palette of flavors to uncover, landscapes to taste, and age-old traditions handed down.

Project

Foodetector was one of the first startups I had the opportunity to collaborate with, marking my entry into the dynamic world of incubators and accelerators—a space I’ve remained deeply connected to ever since.

The two co-founders, both exceptionally talented, needed support in bringing clarity to their product vision. My role focused on product design, where I helped set priorities, define releases, and map out a clear roadmap for development.

Working in an Agile environment, we began with a series of discovery interviews to align on milestones and user needs. From there, I moved into functional wireframing, gradually refining the details into high-fidelity designs. Collaboration with developers was key throughout the process, allowing us to create solutions that were not only creative but also cost-effective and technically feasible.

The project covered multiple interfaces, with dedicated experiences for both B2B vendors and B2C end-users. We designed an adaptive platform, ensuring a seamless experience across devices and maintaining a consistent visual identity throughout.

The result was a functional beta version that allowed users to effortlessly:

• Discover quintessential Italian products based on their location

• Learn in-depth insights about each product

• Locate nearby vendors and restaurants offering those products
